I'm a home schooling mom of eight children. We've been home schooling for 26+ years now. When I first started out, I was very intimidated and didn't know where to begin. All I knew for sure is I needed to be my kids teacher, period. I started reading books and, amonst them, the Moores' books were what stood out and transfigured my ideology about education. They helped me to understand child development in a way that I had never known. It was enlightening, to say the least.

Better Late than Early and Home Style Teaching were the first two I read. Once I understood their extremely well researched theory that it's much better to teach your children "late" than "early", I could finally relax and teach my children according to their schedule instead of mine, the states, or anybody else's. It was very liberating and good fruit has been borne out of their teachings. My kid's are bright, well-balanced young adults thanks to Raymond & Dorothy Moore's practical and very wise teachings. I am forever grateful. I want every parent and teacher out there to feel free to teach kids in a relaxed and stress-free environment. Your children will be grateful for that too.

I have personally found extreme value in all of the Moores' books. School Can Wait is written more from a scholarly and intellectual point of view. Some say it's the scholarly half of Better Late Than Early. See our review on the home page for a better explanation.
